Before I start bursting into song, I'd like to announce, to myself apparently, cos i don't think anyone reads this blog, that i am EMPLOYED! uh-huh. Hopefully I'll be a good teacher, and my pupils, angels.
I've read a bit about classroom management, ever since i was teaching in a primary school, but i wonder how it's applicable to the nursery level. So I stumbled upon a website that is teaches a method that is kinda revolutionary because the method has been used from Preschoolers to College level students. I was amazed at how the preschoolers responded, almost like robots, but you know that they're learning something and teaching their friends at the same time.
Points I've learnt and i hope to implement; My one-liner explanations doesn't do it justice because in the website, it explains why the methods are used and the rationale behind it.
Class/Yes - Class responds with a 'Yes' that matches the tone and intensity of teacher's voice. Variations include claaaaass/yeeeeess or classity-class/yessity-yes. Brilliant.
Five Rules- Read out every day with actions. I especially like 'Keep your dear teacher happy!'.
Teach/Ok- A whole-brain developer. Pupils take charge of their own learning.
Last year, i was just a floating teacher. helping other teachers wen in need. towards the end, i became an English teacher for all 3 levels.
Currently, I am the form teacher of Nursery 2. 4 year old children. I've my own class, own set of rules, own children.
1st 3 weeks of this yr was a hell. new surrounding and new everything, children were not comfortable. alot of cryings, yellings, running nose. i had an assistant teacher.. aft tt 3 weeks, i was left with 14 kids in the 1st session and 12 kids in the 2nd session.
jus me, and dem.
by the way they respond to me.. treat me.. im very sure that they love me.
b4 they leave home, i'll give each n everyone of dem a hug. and they'll be jus waiting for it. so cute rite..
theres this pretty gal, Fiona.. her mom withdrew her n sent her to a child care, where its 7am to 7pm. lots of stuff taught.. her 1st day there is 1st of apr. tt very day, at 12.30pm, aft my 2nd session, i saw her n her mommy in the principal office. the mom saw me and said, she was crying terribly. and didnt want to go back to school. she kept saying she wants Teacher Naz. i was like awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...
i jus spread my 2 arms.. and she came running to me!!!!!!!!!!!!! omgggggggg!!!!!!!
i love being a teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
